Smokey eyes are usually reserved for nights out or Victoria Secret models. And that's a big, fat, lie. I am team daytime smokey eye. Smokey eyes during the day! Smokey eyes during the night! Smokey eyes forever!
Now, the "everyday or daytime" smokey eye is surprisingly controversial. Many say a the point of a smokey eye is dark and sexy with lots of deep colors blending seamlessly. I disagree. To me, "smokey eye" is a technique. It has nothing to do with the colors you choose or when you choose to wear it. It's all about taking (at least) three colors, going from dark to light and blending them to perfection from your lash line to brow bone.
I ❤ daytime "smokey eyes."And I'm not sure what the hate surrounding them is. Because if a smokey eye can ONLY be dark colors, what do you call the bright green, purple and blue ones out there? Good blending technique?
What do you think? Is the name "smokey eye" only refers to smudgy eye looks with dark colors? If so, what would you call this look Megan Good is rocking? But more importantly--Do you love it or leave it?
