Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Waterproof Review

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Waterproof

After being less than impressed by the Simple Micellar Water (review here), I wasn’t jazzed about Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Waterproof Makeup Remover & Cleanser. I ignored the hype surrounding it and kept doing my thing. But it was on sale with a $2 off tear away coupon making it cheaper than the go to eye makeup remover I needed to replace so I decided to take a chance. What can I say, I was feeling lucky.

There are two versions of this cleansing water –

  • Pink cap for regular, which is good for taking off most makeup,
  • Blue cap for water proof mascara and long wearing products.

What I Chose

I got the waterproof version because I wanted the most removing power I could get. Not because I wear waterproof mascara. I hate waterproof mascara. As a result, I can’t speak on how effective this is for that kind of grunt work.

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is like a dual-phase cleanser so you need to shake it before using. I’ve heard people complaining about a “residue” left behind after using this, but I suspect that’s because they didn’t shake it well enough. When it’s completely shaken the bottle gets cloudy and you won’t be able to see any division between the “levels.”

I’m Amazed!

I’m so glad I took a chance with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water because it BLEW MY SOCKS OFF. I’m pretty sure I’m going to use this to take my eye makeup off forever. No more eye makeup remover for me friends! It gets everything off extremely fast. And when I say “everything,” I mean everything. Eyeliner, mascara, concealer, powder it all goes. And when I say “fast” I mean I gently place a cotton round soaked in this stuff on my eye, wiggle gently and poof. I have a cotton pad full of product. It’s very satisfying.

If I want a quick cleanse after a hard workout or I’m just too tired to deal with my full skincare routine, I reach for this. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling coated or sticky and most importantly, it doesn’t leave it dry. But I wouldn’t recommend doing this all the time. Keep it for lazy special occasions.
