Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant Review

PAULA’S CHOICE SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA LIQUID EXFOLIANT

I’ve always been a little scared of chemical exfoliants. My first facial included a chemical exfoliant and…well, let’s just say things Didn’t Go Well. Since that faithful day I’ve avoided them at all costs. However, chemical exfoliants like BHAs and AHAs have been noted for being better than physical exfoliants since they’re more potent but less likely to cause micro tears. So,  I crossed my fingers, waited for a sale, and took a leap of faith on Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant.

Why I chose to dive in

I decided to tip my toe in this pool with Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant because their line is designed for sensitive skin. All their products are fragrance free, colorant free, cruelty free, and in the pH range of 3.2-3.8.  And many of my favorite and trusted beauty bloggers swear by the line. Yes, this is an example of “the internet made me do it.”

How I Use It

The instructions say you can use twice a day, but I don’t think my sensitive skin can handle that. I use only at night after washing my face and applying toner. After consistent use for over a month, I’ve noticed some pretty crazy results. My skin is smoother, hyperpigmentation from acne scars are fading faster, and my pores look much smaller. I didn’t expect the results I got so I didn’t take before pictures. Here’s an up close and personal shot of the right side of my nose and cheek. This area has always been a problem for me. It’s generally where I break out, have pore issues, and hyperpigmentation here takes the longest to clear up. The only thing on my face is my Berry Bomb Ampoule.

Results

Pretty great! Those barely visible dark marks are from a pretty nasty breakout in November. Usually marks like that take way more than just a few months to faded to this point! As you can imagine, I’m in LOVE and I don’t think I’ll ever be without this product.
