There are very few reviews I don’t want to write. Very few. This is one of them. I didn’t want to write a review for SheaMoisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo because it’s one of the few SheaMoisture products that I can regularly find on the shelves. And I’m scared that if more people know exactly how amazing it is, I’m going to have to stock pile it like I do their Black Soap* because it will just cease to exist in stores. But, when I find something good. Something very, very good. It’s hard to not share.
Why I dont wanna share
Like I mentioned previously, the Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Collection is part of SheaMoisture’s Community Commerce line. 10% of all product sales from Community Commerce lines go to women-led businesses in order to support the communities that supply their ingredients. However, I’m not sure this is exclusive to Target anymore because I’ve purchased parts of this collection from ULTA. They don’t have the full line, but they do have the hair products.
Smells and Texture
Back to the shampoo: It smells exactly like the deep conditioner, which is to say heavenly and it LINGERS. Even after conditioning my hair I can still smell it, very faintly. I’m tempted to try the entire line at least once just to see if the scent will linger in my hair for days because I love it so much.
Consistency wise, it’s not what I’m used to. I found it a little more watery than I like. Regardless, it lathers beautifully which is something I like when washing my hair. Something about bubbles makes me think “clean.” Despite the nice lather, my hair didn’t feel stripped after washing. At all. Seriously. It felt like my hair, just wet. Not a drop of stiffness or dryness to be found.
Now if you excuse me, I’m going to go get a spare bottle of SheaMoisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo. Or two. Just in case it starts flying off the shelves. This is definitely a keeper and I hope this collection isn’t limited edition!
Have you tried this shampoo? Loved it? Hated it? Tell me in the comments!
